Fire and Grilling Safety Guide
Whether it’s summer or winter, your yard or camping spot, it’s important to grill safely and keep a few basic rules in mind to ensure you, your family and your friends have a great time and great food! So here are six basic tips for everyone from us at Better Wood Products.
Here’s How to Keep Safe
Outdoors Only
Only use your grill outdoors! Keep it at least 3 feet (1 meter) from your home, deck and eaves.
3 foot Safe Zone
Keep a 3 foot (1 meter) safe zone around the grill itself. That means no tables, chairs, pets, etc. that could catch fire or be burned.
Keep it Clean
Clean your grill either before or after each use. This prevents grease buildup which can lead to fires and flare ups.
Clean Up
Dispose of all coals in a metal can with a lid once they have cooled. Better yet, close your grill, including all vents and leave them overnight to go out.
Grill Safety
Make sure to open your grill before lighting. Ensure the vents are open and no residual grease is built up.
Check Regularly
Make sure to always keep an eye on your grill regularly, including any additional fire sources like patio torches or a fire pit.
